The Fylde Area
FYLDE is a largely coastal area on the west coast of Lancashire in the UK, between the Lune and Ribble estuaries. It includes the seaside resorts of Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Blackpool and Lytham St. Annes.
Inland we have the towns of Thornton, Poulton-le-Fylde, and Kirkham, and its nearest city is Preston.
Its farmland, once its main source of income, is sadly declining, but is still apparent.
Most of it was originally the western part of the ancient hundred of Amounderness.
